The students worked hard during the third week of school! The following list includes topics that were discussed last week:
- Asking and answering questions about a text
- Finding the main idea and key details about a text
- Identifying and discussing vocabulary within a text
- Brainstorming and organizing ideas to write a story
- Including dialogue and considering word choice to make our stories more exciting
- Exploring the geography of Maryland while looking at a physical and political map
- Analyzing different types of maps (world, state, political, physical, elevation maps, etc.)
- Rounding to the Nearest 10 or 100
- Completing number talks to build mental math strategies
- Analyzing different number patterns
Important Dates and Reminders
- September 16th- Scholastic Book Orders are due
- September 23rd- No School: Fair Day and Yom Kippur
- September 25th- 2 Hour Early Dismissal for Students: Teacher Work Session
- Please remember to return the Tech for Trek Labels as soon as possible! The labels were sent home during the first week of school! This is a great way to help our school raise money for technology so we can develop 21st century learners!
